Baggage

What to know before you fly
Please be aware that airlines are now charging fees for checked baggage. Fees vary by airline, size and weight restrictions and number of bags. To avoid unnecessary confusion or complications at check-in, know your airline’s baggage fees before arriving at the airport.

Carry-on is restricted to one carry-on bag plus a personal bag i.e. purse or laptop per passenger. Keep important personal items including documentation, passports and prescriptions in your carry-on and make sure you keep your bag with you at all times.

We recommend you check the baggage size, fees and limits with your airline.

Many suitcases look very similar. We recommend using ribbons or distinctive luggage tags to make it easier to recognize your bags. Please make sure you clearly label bags both inside and out with home and destination contact information.

Your bags will be subject to security screening. Please refrain from locking your checked baggage or use one of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) accepted and recognized locks.

Look for your flight number on the information screens to find out which carousel you need, and wait for confirmation that it is ready. Please be patient and try not to block access for others.

Baggage handling and delivery is the responsibility of the airlines from the point of check-in to the point of collection. Please contact your airline with any inquiries about your baggage, or if you have left anything on an aircraft.

Some airlines subscribe to a replacement service for baggage which has been damaged in transit. For details please contact your airline.

Baggage carts are available in the baggage claim area. Baggage cart rental is $3.00 with a 25 cent reward for returning a cart to the storage rack. The fee is payable with cash ($1 or $5 bills, 5, 10, 25-cent coins) or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).
